Welcome to the second Key newsletter. This issue we bring you a taste of Florence in the form of our beautifully crafted Crystal Door Furniture range. Offering a variety of high-end door fittings we think you'all agree that adding a touch of crystal to a home adds an element of class. Our Designer of focus is Yoshimi Kono, a versatile and stylish designer who brings a touch of Japanese sophistication to our collection. And finally we introduce our ingenious 593Magnetic Flush Pull.

The Italian city of Florence is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance and is renowned for its art, architecture and design. Famous for attraction such as the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and Uffizi Gallery, it oozes styleand culture. We are proud to offer you a taste of Florence in the form of our Crystal Door furniture range, manufactured in the Italian metropolis and supplied uniquely in Australia by Pittella.

The range consists of 25 sophisticated handles and doorknobs in a variety of styles. Many are handcrafted to resemble gemstones, with the crystal sliced to provide the multi-planed surface synonymous with jewellery. Alternative treatments include the stunning black crystal door handle Art: X115 also available in White Crystal, while others project a spectrum when light is shined upon them.

The French Poet Andre Breton once said "The work of art...seems to me devoid of value if it does not offer the hardness, the rigidity, the regularity, the lustre on every interior and exterior facet of the crystal." While Breton's musings were a little deep, one look at our range and we're sure your enthusiasm for crystal will match his.

All the handles are made from genuine crystal, as opposed to glass, come with stylish fittings made from solid brass for high-end functionality and utilise our unique Tie-Bolt fixing method. The lever furniture is ideally suited for any internal swing doors, specifically bathroom doors, wardrobe doors and even patio doors. They are also perfect for the bathroom where they can be used on joinery drawers and cabinets. Our unique Magnetic Flush Pull is a stunning example of how a little ingenuity can go a long way and improve both the aesthetic and practical elements of a home. Rectangular in design, it has a flat facethat can be recessed into the fascia of sliding or swing doors to provide an unobtrusive solution.

Traditionally this type of pull has a recess where the hand grips to slide or pull the door open. Unlike other similar items in the market, our product has been developed in conjunction with our partner manufacturer in Italy, has a rectangular centre plate covering this recess to allow for a more seamless look. It's quality is far superior and has a solid construction that will pass the test of time.

The centre plate is depressed in order for the hand to grip the pull and the innovative use of magnets means the plate automatically reverts to its starting position afterwards. Two magnets are positioned with like poles facing each other which cause them to repel and push the plate back out to its original position.

The Flush Pull is manufactured from solid brass and is even more effective when the Polished Chrome facilitates a seamless addition to mirrors, or when the Antique Brass finish is combined with the timber grain door. The 593 flush pull is also available in Satin Chrome Polished Chrome and Patine Steel and its rectangular design suits both contemporary and retrofit applications. It can be used on timber, aluminium or steel, with the capacity for back-to-back installation.

He is an innovative and multi-faceted designer who works in the fields of architecture, interior design, product industrial design and graphic design. The President of Kono Designs, a New York City based Design firm, Kono believes that "the essence of design spans every sphere of the life" and we are delighted to offer you the opportunity to introduce the essence of Kono into your home.

We have two elegant products designed by Kono on offer. The sleek lines of the H1045 door handle are accentuated by the seamless joining of its lever and neck also caries through its one piece square rose. This was Kono's vision when he designed the handle, which is made from solid brass and plated in Polished Chrome.
